Beneavin Lodge, Dublin
Situated in Glasnevin, North Dublin, Beneavin Lodge is a purpose built 68 bed nursing home positioned next to its sister nursing home Beneavin House and was designed specifically for people with dementia. The home was awarded a Dementia Care Matters Butterfly Service by Dementia Care Matters (UK).
Taking in to account the particular needs of the residents, the design includes living cum dining areas complete with old style kitchenettes. The lounges were designed environmentally to match the different stages of the journey of dementia and the corridors and walls were designed to stimulate and facilitate meaningfully engagement with the residents.
